THE CANAL BY BIKE1
With its 210 km of bicycle paths, of Bouin to L’Aiguillon-sur-Mer, the Vendée offers a good part of the Vendée coastline. There is no shortage of choice.

Duration: about 45 minutes with children, with breaks.
Step : The canal and its lock
When you leave the campground, turn right and follow the Friends of Nature road. Take the canal road about 1.12km from the campsite and turn right. Walk along the canal to the Dormouse Bridge.
You arrive at the first step: the lock.
The canal, dug in 1874, was to allow the drainage of the marsh towards the port of Les Sables d’Olonne
Step : The bridge of the Bréchoir
Continue straight along the canal. At the end of the road, turn right on the bridge of the Bauduère and then immediately left on the bridge of the Bréchoir.
You arrive at the second stage: the bridge of the Bréchoir
This bridge offers a great view of the town of Les Sables d’Olonne. Stop for a moment to admire the view.
Stage : The Village of Aurière
Get back on your bike and ride over the Marais Ro bridge. go straight on and take the first left to discover the Village of Aurière
You arrive at the third stage: the village of Aurière
Broomsticks are small exterior staircases that lead to the upper floor of a house.
The “broom” is a distinctive sign of a better standard of living for the rural population of the 19th century.
Step : Want to go further?
At the crossroads, continue straight ahead. At the end of the road, turn left onto the chemin de la Mouline. At the traffic circle, go straight towards Rue des Sternes. Go up the path to get back to the General Charette street. Walk quietly back to the campsite.
