For this holiday notebook, we take you to an enchanting and heavenly place. The Veillon site is one of those that is good for the heart and the mind. Come and enjoy a timeless stroll a few kilometers from the Domaine de l’Orée campsite.

The location of our campsite in Les Sables-d’Olonne is ideal for visiting the assets of the department. The Vendée is a land of incredible natural wealth. The Veillon site is one of its jewels. If you are in Vendée, it is an UN-MISS-A-BLE.

Good to know

This fabulous space has been designated “the first remarkable site in Vendée” and is classified as a “Grand Ensemble naturelle“.

Step : Prepare your day

Practical :

It takes about 30 minutes by car from the campsite to get there. We advise you to get up early, in summer this site is very popular with travelers.
On site, you will find free parking, just a stone’s throw from the beach. If this one is full, another paying car park is also open

Equipment :

To make the most of the day, bring good walking shoes, but also flip flops.
For lunch, remember to plan a picnic worthy of the name. It is a parenthesis that you must take full advantage of as the place lends itself to it.
Don’t forget your swimsuit and beach towel.
And above all, a cap (or hat) and a cream to protect you against UV rays.

Step : A walk to wake up to

The hike that we offer is accessible to all.

This walk takes place at low tide, so be sure to check the timetables !

Itinerary :

The start is on the large beach of Veillon.
You will follow the dune with, always in the background, a breathtaking view of the ocean. In the distance, you will see the tip of Payré and the oyster huts.
You will cross the oyster bed and perhaps have the chance to admire the oyster farmers at work.
After this path, you will join an asphalt road passing in front of the Château du Veillon.
Walk to mini golf.
After the mini-golf, enter the forest.

Step : After the effort, the comfort…

After this walk which will leave you with lasting memories, choose a place sheltered from the wind and the sun to picnic. Tables are available. Lunch in the heart of this biotope rich in incredible fauna and flora turns out to be a great experience.

Step : Need a nap ?

Siesta or swimming, everyone has their own way of enjoying the joys of the beach.
The beach of Veillon extends over 1 kilometer, you will inevitably find a small corner there to put your towel.
This beach is unique and so different from the Vendée beaches that we are used to seeing.

The beach has a lifeguard station in summer.

You have two options :

read a book while listening to the sound of the waves
dive into the depths of the ocean

You will enjoy swimming in clear, almost limpid waters. The site has the “Blue Flag” label which rewards the quality of bathing water.
Yes, this “paradise” place is part of an ecological approach, so please do not throw your waste anywhere… This miracle that nature has bequeathed to us must be preserved at all costs.

After such a day, you can choose to return to the campsite and enjoy the calm of the terrace of your mobile home.

However, we advise you to prolong the pleasure by dining at the La Plage restaurant. Refurbished a short time ago, you will enjoy delicious cuisine with a breathtaking view of the sun setting in the ocean…
