Step  : Visit a typical market

Go to the market in the central halls typical of the city of Les Sables, inaugurated in 1890, inspired by the work of architects Victor Balard and Gustave Eiffel and work of architect Charles Smolski.

Take the opportunity to taste products from small local producers and take a walk.

Open Tuesday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., every day in July and August.
The floor is open on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, reserved for small producers.
Open on public holidays.

Step  : An impressive landscape at the pit of hell

Then get back in the car and drive to the hellhole. You can park directly opposite and watch the waves crashing against the impressive rocks from your car. It’s a breathtaking sight, and all the more magical on a rainy day.

Hungry but don’t want to lock yourself in a restaurant? We’ve got the solution for you: beach restaurants with covered terraces overlooking the sea. You’ll be able to sample a wide range of dishes, especially those based around seafood. But be sure to check opening times and days in the off-season.

Step : Fun in all its forms

Make the most of the late afternoon with some indoor activities. The Ylium shopping centre has a floor full of fun activities for young and old: Up To Play.

There’s bowling, a trampoline park, arcade games, an escape game, a kids’ park, a lounge bar, virtual reality and artificial waves, all in keeping with the theme of the town of Les Sables d’Olonne.

Something for all the family to enjoy, even on a rainy day.
